Thursday morning,  In terms of widespread damage
this the tornado was the worst to ever hit north Alabama.

Tornado Survivor stories
- This is what some of the survivors had to say

More than 300 people have been killed by the wave of violent weather that has swept across the South the past two days.
Survivors told of entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble and the terror of tornadoes ripping through their homes and businesses.
Here are the voices of some survivors:
Employees huddled in a windowless break room at a CVS drug store in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as a tornado approached and a deafening roar filled the air, store manager Michael Zutell said.
A mother cradling an infant sprinted inside just before the twister hit.
"Glass is breaking. The woman with the baby is screaming. Part of the drop ceiling fell and boxes fly in," he said.
No one inside the store was injured, Zutell said. "It's mind-boggling to think you walked away."
Shortly before a massive tornado tore through her Tuscaloosa neighborhood on Wednesday, Lucy Arnold Sykes decided the weather was ominous enough to shelter her 3-year-old and 6-year-old children in a bathtub.
"I ran in with the kids and kind of joked (to my husband), 'Don't make fun of me for putting the kids in the bathtub, but I think this is serious,' " she told CNN's "The Situation Room" on Thursday. "He went out for one last look, and … he came back in with kind of a strange look on his face, and he said, 'It's right outside the door.' "

500 word child abuse

My very strong opinion on child abuse it that it is wrong!! People may think that it is right, but really it is not!! People get frustrated and take it out on there kids when they have done nothing wrong! Some get mad cause there child may get annoying not listen or say a bad word or something so they think that it is right to punish them like that. It is wrong!! Spanking a kid on the butt is ok  but when people start taking there belts off and hitting the kid i think that they should go to prison. Some kids childhood is ruined from getting hit and abused and they parents call them names and that ruins there self confidence. Its bad when kids come to school with marks and the guidence counilors have to report it and if they do you never know if its gonna help because if there parents find out the kid could get beat more than ever!! The people that is beating the kid should serve time or go to counciling for help cause you should not ruin there life from how yours is. The rigth way to disipline a child is to put them in a corner or in a chair in the other room by themselves and then make them appoligize for what they have done wrong.  Make the child write ten things that they could have doen in a better way not to get into trouble.  You could use distraction to get your child to act right and award them from being good. You could tell them that they cant go do what they wanted because of how they are acting. There are many ways to disipline your child instead of hitting your child. It could cause brain damage, people could make fun of the kid for how they are from there parents beating them it is not right! Pysical abuse isnt the only kind, theres sexual, emotional, verbal, neglect. It could harm anyone in anyway debating on how they take it.  I think that people shoul not treat people differnt and ruin and harm other people for how there life turned out i repeat time and time again, it is WRONG!!! Pysical abuse is one person putting another person in pain. Its kicking slapping pinching doing anything to harm someone. Many women are afraid to tell someone what soemone else has doen to them beccause someone could have threatened to harm them or there loved one if they dont to that what they say. Child neglect is usually typifieb by an ongoing pattern of inadequate care and is readily observed by indivisuals in clore contact with the child.  I think that people that touch or do something to a child need help. You have to have a mental disease and need the living crap beat out of you for doing that. the children do not deserve that at all. How you could think of someone that young in that way is gross. You should get the death pentalty for doing that. And kids are afraid to tell there parnens or someone cause they dont know if it is right or wrong or even what is going on. They shoulnt have to deal with that they should get to live there lifr and have a good childhood and be a kid.
